SEC competition for the Florida Gators has finally arrived. The University of Florida Gators are less then 1 week away from their first SEC game of 2008 in Knoxville , Tennessee . Kickoff in Neyland Stadium against the Vols is at 3:30 PM EST. The entire Southeast will be watching this one.
Remember last year what happened when UT traveled to Gainesville ? The Gators destroyed them 59-20. The game was close in the first half, but after Meyer made some adjustments the Gators exploded for a huge Vol beatdown. Tennessee is still a tough team to beat and this is one of the Gators biggest rivals, so I’m not predicting a blowout this time around. I’m predicting a final score around 42-20, in the Gators favor of course.
One of the biggest X factors heading into the game is Percy Harvin. For the first time in months he is 100% healthy and ready to play. Coach Urban Meyer said this week he won’t hold Percy back. He’ll be utilized in all facets of the offense. Don’t be surprised if Percy ends up with 12-13 touches and almost 200 yards of total offense. He has the playmaking ability to make anything happen.
The weather is supposed to be good, so I’d expect a fair amount of passing from Tim Tebow. The offense has looked horrible at times so far this year, but I think the bye week has helped bring them together. Gator fans should be in for a nice offensive explosion. Along with Percy Harvin, expect Louis Murphy and Deonte Thompson to be involved in the passing game. The ground game will get going with Chris Rainey. I’m also predicting that we’ll see Moody (who’s been absent thus far) get 5-7 carries in the UT game.
To everyone who’s going to the game, have fun! And Go Gators!
