The Florida Gators are SEC East champs once again. No. 5 Florida took care of business tonight after topping off Vanderbilt 42 to 14. What has gotten into Florida this year? Is it something they all are eating? Every win this season so far has been a blowout. The rankings are starting to look better especially with No. 3 Penn State falling to Iowa which will move Florida up a notch. The SEC championship in Atlanta against the Crimson Tide is in Florida’s eyes but we must stay focused on Spurrier’s Gamecocks for next Saturday.
Do you think South Carolina, Alabama, and Florida State are ready to compete against our defense? Our athleticism is just amazing. Ahmad Black collects another interception on defense tonight while teammate Carlos Dunlap blocks a Vanderbilt punt. Florida tipped one punt and blocked one. Our special teams is rapidly improving every single ball game. And do you know what is really scary and why we all should feel sorry for the rest of the SEC teams? Well, let’s just make this clear. Florida does not have one senior on defense.
Quarterback Tim Tebow is still increasing his chances for the Heisman. After throwing for 3 touchdowns and rushing for 2, his Heisman hopes are continue to rise. Tebow added 171 yards in the air and 88 yards on 11 carries on the ground and also breaking a school record of rushing for 40 touchdowns so far this season. His ability to run worked out really well tonight. Breaking tackles after tackles while marching into the end zone. Tebow’s Mom and Dad were cheering in the stands tonight showing their love and support for the young man. Junior Percy Harvin is still continuing to show signs of strength after running the way he has been lately. Harvin got cheated out on the 1 yard line as he dove into the end zone and landing on the white line while the ball popped loose and recovered by Vanderbilt. Harvin thought for sure he was down but after the officials review… he was wrong. But still did not affect Florida’s 42-14 win.
So.. how does the picture of Florida headed to the BCS Championship look? It is looking good right now. With the Penn State loss and the SEC Championship against Alabama coming up, our chances look pretty good. No. 2 Texas Tech will face the Sooners next week. If Crabtree and the Red Raiders fall, Look out for Florida to jump right up their. If the Gators win another National Championship then Tebow has a good shot at the Heisman. Florida will face South Carolina on November 15th at the Swamp. Stats for both teams are seen below and up top in the ticker. Feel free to leave us comments.

Vandy was clearly outmanned and overmatched. Gators have far too many offensive weapons, must be a real nightmare for any defensive coord. in the SEC……as well as opposing teams…..especially their secondary….staring down at Harvin, Rainey, Demps, Moore and Moody….all on the field at the same time. Spurrier comes back to the Swamp. He is but a distant shadow now. Garcia and Co. cannot put up enough numbers to outscore Florida, and SC’s defense, though better, will not be able to cover all those weapons on offense. We’ll do chicken right!!!
